The Tea Party featured a special performance by Grammy-nominated R&B artist, Shanice, who also shared her deeply personal journey with breast cancer. In a transparent and moving discussion, she reminded attendees of the importance of prioritizing their health and well-being, urging women to take proactive steps in their healthcare.
Additionally, the Foundation announced the official launch of Safety in Sisterhood™, an initiative created by Sonia Jackson Myles and now partnered with AAA to promote awareness and best practices for safe travel for women and girls. This important initiative will provide resources and education to help women navigate travel with confidence and security. The event also honored Dr. Andreá N. Williams and Dr. Kate Hallihan of The Ohio State University, Sydney Frost as General Body Member of the Year of The Sister Accord® at The Ohio State University Chapter, Lynnise A. Smith, President & CEO of WBEC-ORV, and Gwendolyn V. Jenkins, President & CEO of The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation.
Scholarship Announcements & Future Initiatives
As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting young women in education, The Sister Accord® Foundation awarded two deserving college students with The Nella D. Jackson Memorial Scholarship as part of the partnership with AAA-The Auto Club Group’s Women In Leadership Employee Resource Group. This year’s recipients, Anju Sujanani and Tyra Peterson, both students at Florida A&M University, are being recognized for their academic excellence, leadership, and dedication to their communities.
A Transformative Retreat Experience in South Africa
The event also featured an exciting announcement from Jerry Mabena, CEO of Motsamayi Tourism Group (MTG), regarding The Sister Accord® Foundation’s first-ever retreat. This exclusive 3-night, 4-day retreat, hosted in partnership with Kruger Untamed at South Africa’s Kruger National Park, will take place in June 2025. Designed for executive women leaders, the retreat will focus on Restoration, Renewal, and Rejuvenation of the Mind, Body, and Soul, offering a unique opportunity to unplug and reconnect with nature through fireside chats and safari game rides at the Tshokwane River Camp.

Further amplifying its mission, The Sister Accord® Foundation recently launched its ‘Journey To 1 Billion’ campaign, featuring a powerful video inspiring women and girls to embrace Sisterhood. Created by Chemistry and Test Tube Productions and distributed by Screenvision Media, the video aired in 85 theaters across key U.S. markets, further expanding the Foundation’s reach and message.
