CTA Building Managers, located in Waltham, MA, has been recognized for their exceptional work in constructing advanced facilities. Recently, the Town of Taunton marked a significant milestone with the groundbreaking of the Taunton Public Safety Complex. This state-of-the-art facility, designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of public safety services, is a testament to the town’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its residents.
The development project, entrusted to CTA Building Managers, will feature a 62,000 sq. ft. two-story public safety building, a 16,000 sq. ft. operations support building, and a fire training tower. This cutting-edge complex will house both the Police and Fire Departments, providing a centralized location for emergency response and management.
Key features of the Taunton Public Safety Complex include dedicated offices for police and fire administration, equipment bays for vehicles and gear, a sallyport for detainee transfer, booking and holding cells, essential infrastructure rooms, sleeping quarters for on-duty staff, and shared spaces to promote collaboration between departments.
The architectural design for the Taunton Public Safety Complex was provided by Caolo & Bieniek Architects, known for their innovative and functional designs in public safety infrastructure. The firm’s track record of successful projects, including the award-winning UMass Police Headquarters, speaks to their expertise in this field.
Mayor Shaunna O’Connell expressed her excitement about the project, stating, “The Public Safety Complex is a symbol of our commitment to public safety and a brighter, safer future for all Taunton residents. This state-of-the-art complex will enhance our emergency response capabilities, ensuring that our Police and Fire Departments have the resources they need to serve and protect our community effectively.”
Jim Hanifan, Vice President at Caolo & Bieniek Architects, highlighted the importance of the new complex in meeting the community’s current and future needs. “The design of the new complex ensures that Taunton is well-prepared to meet the challenges of the current and future community needs,” he said.
