Pregnant with Possibilities Resource Center Celebrates 10 Years of Empowering Families and Improving Maternal Health

CLEVELAND, Oct. 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Pregnant with Possibilities Resource Center (PPRC) proudly celebrates its 10th anniversary of service at its “A Decade of Possibilities” gala on Saturday, November 8, 2025, marking a decade of compassion, community, and commitment to improving maternal and infant health outcomes across Cuyahoga County.

CONFRONTING A PERSISTENT CRISIS
Every pregnancy carries promise. Yet for far too many Black mothers and babies in Ohio, systemic barriers continue to cut that promise short. In 2023, Black babies accounted for 33% of all births in Cuyahoga County, but 59% of infant deaths. By comparison, White babies represented 51% of births and 30% of infant deaths. Across the state, Black infants are 164% less likely to see their first birthday.

10 YEARS OF POSSIBILITIES & PROGRESS
Founded in 2015, PPRC was born from lived experience and a deep understanding of the barriers faced by birthing individuals and families. Over the past decade, PPRC has helped thousands of families across Cuyahoga County through programs that address every stage of the maternal journey, from prevention and pregnancy to postpartum and beyond. PPRC’s impact includes:

  • Supporting nearly 600 families annually with diapers, wipes, and formula through community distributions
  • Providing 400–500 rides each year to prenatal and postpartum appointments, ensuring consistent access to care
  • Achieving nearly 80% full-term birth rate among clients, reflecting improved maternal and infant health outcomes
  • Serving a community where 85% of clients are Black women, delivering programs tailored to their lived experiences

“These numbers reflect transformation, not just in outcomes, but in confidence, connection, and community,” says Veranda Rodgers, President and CEO of PPRC. “For ten years, we’ve stood beside families through some of their most vulnerable moments. Together, we’re building generational health that lasts.”

LOOKING AHEAD: A FUTURE OF GROWTH & GENERATIONAL HEALTH
As PPRC celebrates its milestone year, the organization is looking ahead with bold goals and a renewed sense of purpose. To commemorate this occasion, PPRC will host the “A Decade of Possibilities” gala, uniting the community to celebrate its impact, raise vital funds, and sustain the next decade of growth.

“A Decade of Possibilities” Gala

Proceeds from the fundraiser will directly support programs that promote maternal and child health, expand access to mental health care, and provide essential resources for families across Cuyahoga County.
