With new solutions designed to address urgent mental health needs, streamline faculty and staff support, and enhance accessibility for the entire student body, Mantra Health is meeting the evolving demands of higher education institutions.

The new solutions include:

ConnectNow
This on-demand, 24/7 emotional and crisis support service connects students to behavioral health experts for urgent mental health concerns. Run solely by Mantra Health, this service is available over phone, video, and SMS. ConnectNow is available to students 24/7/365, assessing concerns, or referring them to relevant resources. All session reports are made available in the Mantra Collaboration Portal after the call ends, offering visibility and making it easy for on-campus providers to integrate into notes for follow-up protocols. Since launching this service in August 2024, 90% of phone calls have been answered in 30 seconds or less.

“ConnectNow gives our students on-demand access to a counselor when they are likely to need it most. It has been a great supplement to clients who are receiving counseling and need support between sessions as well as a first step for students not receiving therapy but find themselves overwhelmed or in crisis,” said Coreen Bohl, Director of Counseling at Clarkson University.

Faculty and staff support
Faculty and staff can now utilize the ConnectNow phone line to receive guidance on talking to or working with students of concern. Considering 51% of faculty and staff are regularly worried a mental health crisis will occur and 41% expressed a desire for a 24/7 crisis support line for student guidance, according to our Crisis and Suicide Prevention Awareness survey, this new referral pathway will help meet a growing need.

In addition to providing students with access via self sign-up and referrals through the counseling center or health center, faculty and staff can now refer students directly to Mantra Health services without creating or signing into an account. Our new referral pathway improves accessibility to care, shortens the time to care, and empowers members of the campus community to take action.

Interpretation services
Ensuring accessibility of care for all students, Mantra Health offers interpretation services in 240 languages, as well as ASL. This service connects students to ASTM-certified human interpreters during synchronous video sessions for therapy and psychiatry, as well as ConnectNow’s on-demand emotional and crisis synchronous phone and video support.

50-state coverage for minors
In an effort to support more students, including those involved in dual-enrollment programs and freshmen who may be under the age of 18, we are making our suite of mental health and wellness solutions available to students between 16 and 18. With dual-enrollment programs rising across the country – having grown 23% from 2021 to 2024 and reaching a rate of 40% at community colleges – it’s becoming ever more important to provide mental health support to young students.

Global student support
Our global 24/7 helpline supports students studying and living abroad. Students can access on-demand single session therapy and high-risk crisis care from master’s level clinicians or local equivalents in their local country. These providers understand local laws, policies, processes, and expectations, giving students a well-resourced and higher quality experience.
