Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH) and Huawei have successfully completed a core network consolidation project in Jakarta, Indonesia. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in advancing mobile communication technologies in the country. With over 100 million users and 26 core locations nationwide, the completion of this project within 14 months is a remarkable achievement.
The consolidation project has greatly improved network experiences for Indosat customers, particularly those in rural and remote areas. Residents of Kalimantan can now enjoy a 15% increase in average download speeds, while the average round trip time for Facebook usage has been reduced by 11%. Similarly, users in Central Java are experiencing enhanced performance when using the Internet for gaming and live videos.

By utilizing cutting-edge telco cloud-native technology, the teams were able to commercialize innovative solutions for 5G core networks. This includes the deployment of bare metal containers and a dual-engine container solution, which streamlines the introduction of new services and reduces time-to-market.
