Dedicated to Ship Marvelous Revel in to Indonesians, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Entire the International’s First Massive PS Core Community Consolidation & Transformation

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH) and Huawei have successfully completed a core network consolidation project in Jakarta, Indonesia. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in advancing mobile communication technologies in the country. With over 100 million users and 26 core locations nationwide, the completion of this project within 14 months is a remarkable achievement.

The consolidation project has greatly improved network experiences for Indosat customers, particularly those in rural and remote areas. Residents of Kalimantan can now enjoy a 15% increase in average download speeds, while the average round trip time for Facebook usage has been reduced by 11%. Similarly, users in Central Java are experiencing enhanced performance when using the Internet for gaming and live videos.

Desmond Cheung, Director and Chief Technology Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, stated, “We are proud to set a new standard for the telecommunications industry. This core network consolidation project underscores our commitment to providing a world-class digital experience to our customers. With this initiative completed, we are confident in delivering exceptional service to our customers while advancing our mission of connecting and empowering every Indonesian.”

George Gao, President of Huawei Cloud Core Network Product Form, added, “Through our close collaboration, we are thrilled to see the successful completion of this large-scale network consolidation project in a short timeframe. Huawei remains dedicated to supporting Indosat in enhancing network connectivity, driving service innovation, and creating industry value in digital transformation for greater business success.”

The project demonstrates the technological prowess, hard work, determination, and teamwork of both Indosat and Huawei in overcoming various challenges. By utilizing cutting-edge telco cloud-native technology, the teams were able to commercialize innovative solutions for 5G core networks. This includes the deployment of bare metal containers and a dual-engine container solution, which streamlines the introduction of new services and reduces time-to-market.

Moving forward, Indosat and Huawei will continue to collaborate on creating a more intelligent, efficient, and resilient mobile communication network to deliver an enhanced service experience for Indonesian customers. Together, they will address industry challenges and drive ongoing development and innovation in Indonesia’s mobile communication technologies.
