Open enrollment will be held from Oct. 27 through Nov. 7.
This is an active enrollment year, which means action will be required on the part of each UGA employee to ensure that benefits and associated costs match individual circumstances.
All faculty and staff enrolled or enrolling in a USG health care plan must certify their tobacco status. Employees covering a spouse on their USG/UGA health plan must also update the working spouse certification; those faculty and staff who take no action during open enrollment to complete these certifications will default to the $150 monthly surcharge for each item.
UGA will hold an in-person benefits fair on Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Mahler Hall at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel. Participants are invited to chat with vendors, get benefits information and participate in vendor-provided giveaways. Open enrollment presentations will be hosted at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in Room D.
The benefits fair will also feature a walk-in flu shot clinic staffed by the University Health Center. No appointment is necessary. Faculty and staff are asked to bring their UGA ID and medical insurance card to the flu clinic. Please note: Kaiser Permanente members must receive their flu shot at a Kaiser facility in order for it to be covered by insurance.
Throughout the year, USG offers opportunities for UGA faculty and staff enrolled in a USG health care plan to earn well-being credits through free biometrics screenings. The UGA Benefits and Well-being team will share more information as these opportunities draw closer and encourage all who are eligible to participate. Learn more by visiting the USG Well-being page.
Registration for the benefits fair is not required. Those planning to attend can add this event to their calendar here.
