Veterans Could Score All-Expenses-Paid Weekend and Shot at $5,000 at Vetrepreneur Project

FOND DU LAC, Wis., April 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The Vetrepreneur Project, a dynamic collaboration between Venture Project of Oshkosh, Salute the Troops, and the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce (WVCC), is now accepting applicants for its next cohort on May 2-4, 2025, at Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells. Veterans from Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota are invited to apply for this all-expenses-paid weekend experience focused on launching or growing their businesses—with a chance to win up to $5,000 in seed funding.

Since launching, the Vetrepreneur Project has helped start 20 businesses, awarded $29,000 in funding, and supported seven communities. The May retreat condenses a powerful business accelerator into three days. Participants will learn lean startup principles, customer validation, and pitch development, culminating in a live pitch competition. Winners receive funding from Salute the Troops and WVCC.

Open to veterans who own at least 50% of their business—whether at idea stage or already operating—the program prioritizes those with revenue but welcomes all. The 30 available spots will be filled by motivated veterans seeking hands-on training and expert guidance. Friday features networking, Saturday dives into workshops, and Sunday concludes with the pitch finale.

“Veterans embody pride and purpose,” said a Salute the Troops spokesperson. “This program delivers tools, training, and funding—no catch.” Past participants, like Jess Marshall, credit the retreat with giving their business clarity and momentum.

With support from Wisconsin Business Developement, Carbliss, National Exchange Bank and Trust, and more the Vetrepreneur Project offers a proven path to entrepreneurship for those who served.
