Doublepoint Raises Gesture Tech Profile at MWC25 With WowMouse Pro Launch, Ambiq Deal and Meta Exec Hire

BARCELONA, Spain, March 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Doublepoint Technologies, a recognized leader in gesture technology, is raising the profile of gesture control at MWC25 Barcelona with several major announcements: the launch of its new WowMouse Pro app, a partnership with chip manufacturer Ambiq, and the addition of former Meta executive Yiannis Pagkalos as chief commercial officer.

Following a year of increasing industry attention — including top tech media coverage at CES, MWC and AWE and an innovation award from Fast Company — Doublepoint has fueled growing interest in consumer adoption of gesture-based interaction through its widely downloaded WowMouse apps for Android and Apple smartwatches. With these latest moves, the company is expanding access to gesture control across wearables, smart devices and more, reinforcing its pioneering role in making intuitive, touch-free interaction a consumer technology reality.

WowMouse Pro: Android smartwatch users gain greater gesture control, customization options
Building on the success of WowMouse, which has surpassed 140,000 downloads since CES 2024, Doublepoint is launching WowMouse Pro, a premium upgrade that delivers enhanced gesture control and customization for WearOS smartwatches.

New features include:

  • Flick to scroll: Navigate pages with a simple wrist flick.
  • Double tap: Assign custom actions for hands-free control.
  • Media mode: Adjust music playback with intuitive hand movements.
  • Customization options: Tailor WowMouse Pro to fit individual user needs.

Get it today: Download WowMouse on the Google Play store and upgrade to Pro for $4.99. Attendees can try it at Doublepoint’s MWC booth, Hall 8.1, 4YFN Stand 8.1B60.12, March 3-6.

“The launch of WowMouse Pro for WearOS smartwatches is a direct response to user feedback,” said Ohto Pentikäinen, co-founder and CEO of Doublepoint. “Our community asked for more power and flexibility, and this upgrade delivers. It marks an important milestone for us in taking WowMouse to the next level, to further expand consumer demand for a robust wrist-based gesture control experience.”

Ambiq Partnership: Low power solution for gesture control using Apollo510

Through Doublepoint’s new partnership with Ambiq, the companies are integrating Doublepoint’s gesture-recognition algorithms into Ambiq’s energy efficient SoCs, enabling precise, low-latency gesture control with minimal power consumption using the latest Apollo510 chip. This partnership accelerates the creation of intuitive, gesture-enabled devices and sets a new standard for consumer experiences using Edge AI.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Ambiq team for the partnership and joint mission,” said Pentikäinen. “This partnership shows just how much potential there is for gesture-enabled solutions to transform how we interact with technology every day, also in low power environments. We’re committed to creating solutions for wearable products that push those boundaries even further.”

“Doublepoint’s work in advancing gesture recognition technology offers exciting possibilities for wearables and consumers,” said Mike Kenyon, EVP of Sales at Ambiq. “We’re thrilled to join forces with them in leveraging our low-power SPOT platform and making Doublepoint’s sophisticated technology possible in battery-constrained devices.”

  • Experience Doublepoint’s technology in the Ambiq booth at Embedded World in Hall 4, Booth 4-581, March 11-13.

Strategic Leadership Addition: Yiannis Pagkalos joins Doublepoint as CCO
To support its growth and expansion through commercial partnerships, Doublepoint has appointed Yiannis Pagkalos as chief commercial officer. A former director of business development and product partnerships at Meta, he brings 20 years of experience in strategic partnership and business development, as well as emerging technology commercialization.

At Meta, Pagkalos played a key role in developing and launching Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses through a partnership with EssilorLuxottica. He also spent 13 years at Google, leading partnerships for products including Stadia, Google Home, Chromecast and Google Fiber.
