- From November 17 to 21, the country will participate in two international fairs: MEDICA and Semicon Europa

BERLIN, November 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The Promoter of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica (PROCOMER) will participate in two international fairs in Germany, of the health and semiconductor sectorswith the objective of promoting the country’s value proposition and attracting potential investors.
The national representation will be present in MEDICA (from November 17 to 20, in Dusseldorf) and in Semicon Europe (November 18 to 21, in Munich), and will maintain an agenda of meetings with leading companies from both sectors and investorsas well as with other reference investment agencies worldwide.
“Participating in these international fairs gives us the opportunity to approach new investors and explore markets that traditionally have not had such a marked presence in Costa Rica. Expanding the base of investment sources is key to strengthening the resilience and competitiveness of the country, especially in two industries as relevant as medical and semiconductors,” he highlighted. Costa Rica’s participation in MEDICA seeks to strengthen Costa Rica’s position as hub in medical device manufacturing. The country currently has more than 95 FDI companies in the sectorwhich develop high precision processes under international standards and It is home to seven of the largest companies in the sector in the world. Furthermore, this activity represents 48% of goods exports of the country as of September of this year, reaching a total of US$8,139 million.
In parallel, the presence in Semicon Europeone of the most relevant fairs in the semiconductor industry, seeks publicize the country’s capabilities in advanced manufacturing, assembly, packaging, research and development, and electronic designto strengthen the value chain of this emerging industry in Costa Rica, which currently brings together 14 companies of foreign investment.

PREVIOUS TOUR REINFORCED THE PROMOTION OF THE COUNTRY IN PORTUGAL AND THE NETHERLANDS
From November 10 to 14, PROCOMER carried out a tour in Portugal and the Netherlands to promote the country’s value proposition to corporate services and digital technology companies.
The agenda included participation in the Web Summit Lisbon 2025 -one of the most relevant technological events in the world- as well as meetings with companies, chambers and clusters in Lisbon, Amsterdam and Rotterdam, in order to strengthen relationships and promote new investment opportunities for the country.
Europe consolidates itself as one of the main foreign direct investment markets for Costa Ricabeing the second most relevant commercial partner, with a 21% share in 2025 and a 17% growth compared to 2024.
